137.

asked the Minister for Health the reason disabled person's maintenance allowance was discontinued in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

A disabled person's maintenance allowance of £108.78 per week was discontinued with effect from 22 September 1986 because it appears to the Western Health Board that the person in question had at his disposal considerable assets which he had not disclosed to the board at the date of application. The withdrawal of his allowance is under appeal at present and the matter is being examined by the Western Health Board.
