Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Advertisement of Hospital Post.

144.

asked the Minister for Health the reason the vacant ophthalmic surgeon post at the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, Cork, has not been advertised; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is planned to transfer the ophthalmic service from the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital to Cork Regional Hospital, during 1987. A working group representative of the Department of Health, the Southern Health Board and the Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital is at present considering what facilities will be required for this service at Cork Regional Hospital and as soon as agreement is reached on this matter the vacant post will be advertised.
