My Department has agreed in principle to grant aid a suitable replacement of the existing prefabricated classrooms which accommodate St. Anthony's school for mentally handicapped children located at Station Road, Castlebar, County Mayo. As a preliminary to inspection of the site proposed for a new school building, inquiries are in hand with a view to establishing the accommodation requirements of the school in the long term. It is not possible at this stage to give an indication of the time scale before contract documents can be prepared.
