Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Camolin (Wexford) School.

205.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the terrible conditions being experienced by the pupils and teachers of Camolin national school, Wexford; when it is proposed to build a new school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has agreed to grant aid the provision of a new national school at Camolin, County Wexford, and contract documents for the project have been prepared. A review of enrolment trends indicates that the numbers attending the school are falling. This may necessitate a downward revision of the accommodation to be provided. A decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible. I am not in a position at this stage to say when building works may commence.
