Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - National Development Corporation.

15.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will give details of total expenditure to date on the National Development Corporation; the number of jobs created for the administration of the corporation; and the number of jobs created by the corporation.

Limerick East): Total capital of £1,550,002 has been provided so far to the National Development Corporation Limited since its establishment on 28 May 1986. A further £423,500 has been provided to the corporation, to date, by way of grant-in-aid, to cover its administration costs.

The number of jobs provided by companies in which the National Development Corporation holds investments is 161. This includes investments taken over by the corporation from the National Enterprise Agency, on vesting day, 11 June 1986.

Information regarding the number of persons employed in the administration of the corporation is a matter for the corporation itself and I have no function in that regard.
