asked the Minister for Finance the up-to-date position concerning the implementation of the arterial drainage of the River Suir and its tributaries; its present place of priority; the nature of work to be carried out; and when work is likely to commence.

Work on the design of a drainage scheme for the Suir catchment area, which is third in order of priority, has been recommenced. At this stage it is not possible to furnish details of the nature of proposed drainage works or say when a scheme might be commenced.
