Vol. 369 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kerry Housing Allocation.

31.

asked the Minister for the Environment the total amount of money allocated by him to Kerry County Council for local authority new house starts in 1985, 1986 and 1987.

The amount of capital allocated to Kerry County Council specifically for new house starts in 1985 was £1,734,000. In the current year, the allocation of £3,700,000 which was made to the county council to meet expenditure on existing commitments included 39 hew houses started in 1986. The question of a further capital allocation to finance additional new house starts this year is under consideration in my Department.

The capital allocations for housing authorities in respect of their 1987 housing construction programme have not yet been considered.
