Vol. 369 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Estate Reroofing.

2.

asked the Minister for the Environment when his Department will have available proposals to carry out reroofing on an estate (details supplied) in Dublin 13.

3.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a proposal from Dublin Corporation in relation to the reroofing of an estate (details supplied) in Dublin 13.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 2 and 3 together. The question of remedying any defects in this estate is primarily a matter for settlement between the residents and Dublin Corporation. I am, however, considering a proposal from the corporation which arose out of their discussions with the residents regarding the funding of such work and I hope to make a decision on the matter in the near future.

Is the Minister aware that the roofs are deteriorating rapidly? Would the Minister be in a position to meet the residents in the next fortnight or three weeks to discuss the proposal with them?

The Deputy and the House will appreciate that I have heavy commitments here this week and that it appears from the way the debates are moving on the Bills before us that I will be here for some weeks to come. The Deputy knows that I am always very receptive in relation to deputations when requests are addressed to me in the normal way.
