Vol. 369 No. 4

Written Answers. - Bovine Tuberculosis.

98.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will give, as at the most recent date for which figures are available, the present position as regards the incidence of bovine tuberculosis among cattle in Ireland; and how that position compares with the position one year previously and two years previously.

At 21 October 1986 2.73 per cent of herds were restricted due to tuberculosis. The corresponding levels of disease prevalence in 1985 and 1984 were 3.73 per cent and 2.86 per cent respectively.
