Vol. 369 No. 5

Written Answers. - Irish/British Civil Servants: Exchange.

27.

asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will give an account on the workings of the exchange arrangements with Irish and British civil servants after the first year of operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The position is that three Irish civil servants have completed periods of service in the UK Civil Service under the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding on the exchanges of civil servants between the two administrations.

To date no British civil servants has served in the Irish Civil Service. A number of exchanges are being discussed at present.
