asked the Minister for the Environment when a home improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will pay a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The grant cannot be paid until the applicant furnishes to the Department the information requested on 18 September 1986.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for the Environment if he will expedite the issue of approval of an application for a house improvement grant in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Limerick.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange a home improvement grant inspection for a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will pay a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

A grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions applying to the grant scheme have been fulfilled. The inspection will be carried out as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will re-examine the grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Wexford with a view to increasing the grant, taking into account a kitchen extension and the necessity for a new back door.

Grants amounting to £2,396 have been approved and include a maximum grant of £2,000 for the provision of an additional bedroom. In the circumstances a further grant cannot be given for a kitchen extension. A grant of £396 has been approved for the replacement of defective windows based on the extent of the works of this kind found necessary on inspection.

An inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out within the next few weeks.

The file in this case has been referred to the Department's inspector for investigation and report with a view to approval of a grant.

The second instalment of the mortgage subsidy (£800) will be paid within the next few weeks.

There has been no undue delay and notification of grant approval has issued to the applicant.

Normally applications relating to more than one category of grant are covered by one application form. In this instance, however, two applications were made some months apart. Apparently, the applicant overlooked initially to apply for a grant in respect of the provision of a water supply for which he has not been notified of the approval of a grant. A grant for window replacement will be paid within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment the extent of the works approved for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny under the home improvement grant scheme as the applicant is uncertain as to exactly what amount of work he qualifies for.

Full details of the works approved and of the grants payable are given in the Certificate of Approval which has been issued to the applicant.

When the applicant furnishes to the Department the information and documentation requested from him on 5 June 1986 further consideration will be given to his application.

When the applicant notifies my Department that the work has been completed, an inspection will be arranged with a view to the payment of the grant.

There has been no undue delay in this case. A final inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks with a view to payment of the grant approved.

The inspection has been carried out and the grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a reconstruction grant under the old scheme was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

There is no record of the receipt in the Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason an old reconstruction grant was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

A grant cannot be paid in this case because, contrary to the Housing Regulations, 1980 (as amended), notification of completion of work and a claim for payment were not received in my Department by 30 June 1981.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment the steps he is proposing to expedite new house grant inspections and grant payments in Cavan/Monaghan.

An extra inspector is now working in the area and additional inspections are also being carried out under the incentive bonus scheme for the permanent inspectorate. It is expected that these steps will overcome any delays that have been occurring in the area. There is no undue delay in making payment of grants following final inspection.
