asked the Minister for Communications the action he proposes to take to improve the very poor TV reception in the area of Brosna, Tralee, County Kerry, which, it is understood, is caused by the Garda radio telephone system.

This is primarily a matter for Radio Telefís Éireann. RTE state that they are aware that there are interference problems with television reception in the Brosna area following the introduction of the Garda radio communications system. RTE are currently co-operating with the Garda in an effort to resolve these problems.

RTE state that they will be glad to investigate individual cases of poor reception if they are supplied with the names and addresses of viewers who are experiencing interference.
