Vol. 369 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Harbour By-Laws.

4.

asked the Minister for Communications when he will approve harbour by-laws for Burtonport, Rathmullan and Greencastle in order that Donegal County Council may appoint harbour masters to these locations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Draft by-laws for the regulation of the harbours at Burtonport, Rathmullan and Greencastle have been agreed between this Department and Donegal County Council. The council were asked to publish notice in the newspapers indicating their intention to introduce by-laws. The council have recently indicated that objections were received from one party and these objections are being considered by the Department at present.

When agreement is reached regarding the objections a statutory instrument will be drawn up to give effect to the by-laws.

Would the Minister say whether the objection related to the three harbours or to only one?

I do not have that information here but I can let the Deputy have it this afternoon.
