As I indicated during a debate on a motion on Civil Legal Aid in the Seanad on 8 October 1986 (columns 284 and 285, volume 114, No. 3), work has commenced in my Department on the preparation of the necessary draft legislation to place the present administrative scheme on a statutory footing.
