175.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will pay a 1986 sheep headage grant and an 1986 ewe premium to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named will be paid his sheep headage and ewe premium grants shortly.

176.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will pay a 1986 cattle headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named will be paid her 1986 cattle headage and calf premium grants when the batches which include her payments are processed.

177.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when inspections and payments will be made for headage grants in the newly designated severely handicapped areas.

201.

asked the Minister for Agriculture considering the fact that headage payments are normally made in November, when it is hoped that the headage payments for 1986 will be made in Sligo-Leitrim.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 177 and 201 together.

Sheep inspections in all designated areas have been completed and cattle inspections should be completed within the next few weeks. Over 20,000 applicants have already been paid 1986 sheep headage grants amounting to over £10 million. Payment of cattle and beef cow headage grants will commence shortly.
