National Employment and Training Authority Bill, 1986: Leave to Introduce.

I move:

"That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to make further provision in relation to the provision of training and retraining for employment, the provision of work experience and the establishment of employment schemes and job placement services, for those and other purposes to provide for the establishment of a body to be known as An tÚdarás Náisiúnta Fostaíochta agus Oiliúna or, in the English language, the National Employment and Training Authority and to define its functions, to provide for the dissolution of An Chomhairle Oiliúna, the Youth Employment Agency and CERT Limited and the winding up of the National Manpower Service of the Minister for Labour, to provide for the transfer of their functions to the National Employment and Training Authority and to provide for connected matters”.

This Bill is to give effect to the proposals contained in the recent White Paper on Manpower Policy.

When is it proposed to take Second Stage?

It is proposed to take Second Stage in a matter of weeks subject to agreement between the Whips.

The Minister will have to name a date.

Next Tuesday, 18 November 1986, subject to agreement with the Whips.
