Vol. 369 No. 9

Written Answers. - TB Eradication Scheme.

82.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if, due to the failure of his Department to pay fees due for TB testing, he thinks that a supplementary estimate for 1986 will be necessary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

83.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if any programme has been decided on yet for the 1987 TB eradication scheme; if extra finance will be made available to carry out a full herd test in 1987; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose taking Questions Nos. 82 and 83 together. There has been no failure by my Department to pay fees for testing and it is not anticipated that a supplementary estimate will be required for such payments in the current year. The bovine disease eradication programme for 1987 is currently under consideration and at this stage it is not possible to indicate the scope of the programme.
