Vol. 369 No. 11

Written Answers. - Proposed Castleknock (Dublin) School.

178.

asked the Minister for Education when the building of a second level school at Beechpark Avenue, Castleknock will commence; when a board of management and principal will be appointed; and what arrangements for temporary accommodation are envisaged in the event of the school building not being ready for occupation in September 1987.

The position regarding the construction of the second level school at Castleknock has not changed since my reply to Question No. 230 on 11 November 1986.

No decision has yet been taken as to the form of management the school will have. If it is to be a community school, the board of management will be formed early in the New Year. In the case of a community college the setting up of the board will be a matter for County Dublin Vocational Education Committee.

Arrangements for the selection and appointment of a principal are matters for the board of management.

A number of options are under consideration in relation to the provision of temporary accommodation pending completion of the school building.
