(Limerick West) asked the Taoiseach in respect of the period from 1 January 1986 to the most recent available date, the numbers of live cattle exported from this country to Libya; and in respect of the same period the percentage of exports to Libya which represent live cattle exports to all third countries.

The numbers of live cattle exported to Libya were 28,819 in the period January to August 1986, the most recent period for which such information is available. This represents 69 per cent of all live cattle exports to third countries.
