Vol. 369 No. 11

Written Answers. - House Condition Surveys.

66.

asked the Minister for the Environment when each county council and county borough council last carried out the five years housing condition survey in their administrative area: and which local authorities have such surveys in train at present.

House condition surveys are carried out as part of the assessment of housing needs under section 53 of the Housing Act, 1966. The most recent surveys were carried out in 1980 as part of the assessment of needs in respect of the period to 31 March 1985. I am not aware of any authorities who have assessments in train at the moment.

The next assessments will be carried out under the provisions of section 8 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 1985, when it is enacted.
