Vol. 369 No. 11

Written Answers. - Domestic Service Charges.

83.

asked the Minister for the Environment the names of the local authorities not operating service charges for water and refuse collection; and the amounts levied by the local authorities on householders for such charges.

Domestic service charges were not adopted in 1986 by Dublin County Council, Dublin Corporation, Waterford Corporation, or Dún Laoghaire Corporation. Such charges are also not applied by Drogheda and Sligo Corporations or by the urban district councils of Athy, Carrickmacross and Tralee except in the supply of domestic water to dwellings outside their boundary areas. The amounts estimated by local authorities in respect of domestic water and refuse charges for 1986 are £26.5 million and £7.0 million, respectively.
