Vol. 369 No. 11

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

91.

asked the Minister for the Environment if any parts of the old doors and windows were examined by the Department's inspector in connection with the application of persons (details supplied) in County Kerry for a house improvement scheme grant; if not, if he will arrange for a further inspection as a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In accordance with the special dispensation from prior inspection announced last February, notification issued to the persons named authorising them to proceed with the work in respect of which their application was made subject to the conditions of the scheme (other than the prior inspection requirement) applicable when they applied. It was specifically pointed out in that notification that the windows and doors replaced had to be kept for examination by the Department's inspector and that otherwise a grant would not be paid. As the applicant did not comply with this requirement this application had to be rejected.

92.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a new house grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house is complete and occupied and that all conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.
