Written Answers. - Public Service Special Pay Awards.

asked the Minister for the Public Service if he will give details of all current public service special pay awards in regard to the following: (a) the method of payment of these awards; (b) the percentage terms involved; (c) the financial amounts per category; (d) the average financial amount per individual; and (e) the overall numbers involved in each category.

I take it the Deputy is referring to arbitration findings and Labour Court awards which are being implemented under Clause 3.2 of 25th Round agreements in the public service. The terms of Clause 3.2 are as follows:

"Claims in respect of which adjudication hearings had taken place prior to 1 January 1986 may be implemented as follows:

(a) one third of the relevant increases may be paid from 1 December 1986;

(b) a further one third of the relevant increase may be paid from 1 December 1987;

(c) the remaining balance outstanding may be paid from 1 July 1988".
