Vol. 370 No. 1

Written Answers. - Green Paper Proposals.

23.

asked the Minister for Education if it is intended to proceed with the proposals contained in the Green Paper, Partners in Education: Serving community Needs, in view of the strong opposition to the proposals made by teachers' unions. VEC's and others involved in the vocational education committees.

I have received many views and comments from a wide variety of interests in regard to the proposals contained in the Green Paper. All of these view and comments, including those referred to by the Deputy in his question, are under detailed considertation at present. I cannot at this stage say what the final proposals will be but I can assure the Deputy that there is no question of dropping the matter.
