asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry if he will state in respect of a company (details supplied) (a) the total grants paid by BIM to the company from the start to date and the amount approved but still outstanding: (b) the total of EC grants approved and the amount received to date; and (c) from what source were BIM able to provide a grant of £117,409 and a loan of £234,818, in view of recent statements by BIM that they had no funds to finance the building of boats for fishermen, and of assisting with the provision of funds for fish processing projects.

(a) Total grants paid by BIM to the company from the start to date amounts to IR£21,936. The amount approved but unpaid is IR£81,162. (b) Total EC grants approved stand at IR£358,622. No EC grants have been paid to date. (c) The grants at (a) above and a repayable grant of £71,902 were made to the company under the terms of the mariculture grant scheme for which provision is made in subhead D.2 of the Fisheries Vote.
