Vol. 370 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Grant.

115.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay regarding the grant for the provision of toilets at the Church Avenue national school, the plans for which were drawn up by the Office of Public Works some considerable time ago in August 1985; and if he will notify Deputy Keating when this money will be made available.

The scheme which my Department requested the Office of Public Works to draw up for provision of new toilets for Drumcondra national school, Church Avenue, Dublin proved to be too costly. My Department's professional advisers are considering the question of a revision of the scheme and the details will be conveyed to the school authorities as soon as possible. The matter to be resolved at present is not so much the availability of a grant allocation but the question of securing a scheme at reasonable cost. I will, however, arrange for the Deputy to be informed of developments.
