Vol. 370 No. 2

Written Answers. - Redundancy and Employers' Insolvency Fund.

192.

asked the Minister for Labour the present position in relation to the payment of minimum notice to former employees of a company (details supplied) in County Louth; and when payment will be made.

My Department made a payment of £88,709,25 from the Redundancy and Employers' Insolvency Fund on 20th November 1986 to the liquidator of the company to enable him to pay 73 former employees their entitlements under the Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act, 1973, on the basis of award by the Employment Appeals Tribunal. I understand that a further eight cases are listed for hearing by the Employment Appeals Tribunal. When the appropriate claims are received in my Department, they will be processed without delay.
