Vol. 370 No. 2

Written Answers. - Small Builder's Subsidy

81.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has made moneys available to Dublin County Council to pay the small builder's site subsidy to applicants who qualify for it in the Clondalkin area; and if not, if he will arrange to make such moneys available immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is a matter for Dublin County Council to pay private sites subsidy to eligible house purchasers in the Clondalkin area. I understand the council have paid the subsidy to most of the eligible purchasers and intend to make the remaining payments as soon as possible. My Department's involvement is to subsidise the loan charges incurred by housing authorities in the provision of sites which qualify for subsidy.
