The application from Buncrana Urban District Council to extend the operation of their project under the social employment scheme will be considered at the next meeting of the scheme's Monitoring Committee. This meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 3 December 1986. My Department will make a decision on the application as soon as the committee has completed its consideration of the matter. However, in view of the present recruitment restrictions which it has been necessary to impose following the overwhelming response to the scheme there is some delay between approval of programmes and take on of the full complement of workers.
