asked the Minister for Agriculture (a) the level of intervention skimmed milk powder stocks in (i) 1985 and (ii) at the end of October 1986; (b) the purchases, if any, which occurred in the stocks in the first ten months of 1986; (c) the level of sales from stocks in the first ten months of 1986; (d) the amount of such sales, if any, which was given as food aid to developing countries; and (e) the amount of such sales, if any, which was sold for use in animal feed.

Following is the information requested by the Deputy: 31 December 1985, 519, 720 tonnes; 31 October 1986, 831, 900 tonnes. 2. Quantity of skimmed milk powder purchased into intervention in the period 1 January to 31 October 1986: 585, 250 tonnes. 3. Quantities of skimmed milk powder sold in the period 1 January to 31 October 1986: total, 273, 070 tonnes; supplied as food aid to developing countries, 17, 660 tonnes; sold for use in animal feed, 210, 250 tonnes.
