The latest such report relates to the year 1985. Information in respect of 1986 is not yet available. The information requested by the Deputy in relation to job numbers is in the form of a list which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.

With regard to announcements made by the Minister during 1986 regarding industrial projects, namely, Manton and Company and a number of other projects announced by the Minister recently, will he inform the House as to the time scale for providing those jobs?
(Limerick East): It is a policy that any announcement about job projections is confined to two years ahead. We no longer make projections for four or five years ahead as was the practice heretofore.
Is there any follow-up by the IDA to establish if the number of jobs which are grant-aided and announced when a project gets approval are provided? If not, what steps, if any, are taken by the IDA to recover grants paid for jobs which have not been filled?
(Limerick East): The IDA monitor the progress of companies on an ongoing basis. Grants are not paid at the start of a project; they are paid as the jobs are created over a period of time. It is also Government policy now that contracts between participating companies and the IDA would have a clause inserted that if the job targets are not achieved grants will be repaid to the IDA.
Has the Minister any indication of the number of job losses in County Roscommon since 1982? Will he confirm that over 600 jobs have been lost from 1982 to date?
(Limerick East): That is an entirely different question. If the Deputy puts down the question I will be happy to answer it.
Does the Minister not think it is relevant to the question in relation to the jobs which are allegedly created? As far as I am aware, not one job has been created in County Roscommon in the past four years.
