Vol. 370 No. 5

Written Answers. - Free Milk Scheme.

119.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1 has not received free milk; and when this will be provided to her.

The person in question became eligible for a supply of free milk on 24 September 1986 and her daily supply was ordered by the Eastern Health Board from the dairy under contract.

In this instance there is a long standing arrangement by the dairies for eligible residents of the area to collect their milk supply from a particular local shop, and the dairy notifies the residents of the arrangement.

Regrettably, the person in question was not notified by the dairy until 27 November 1986. Her milk supply commenced on 28 November 1986. In order to compensate the person for the delay, milk will be supplied beyond her entitlement period.
