Vol. 370 No. 6

Written Answers. - Lissaniska (Mayo) School.

78.

asked the Minister for Education is he will make a statement on the position in relation to Lissaniska national school; if he is aware that urgent repairs are necessary to the old school; and if he is in a position to state when work on a three-roomed extension will commence.

Sketch plans have been approved for the proposed extension to Lissaniska national school, County Mayo. A grant will be sanctioned towards the cost of the project when evidence of satisfactory title is furnished for a site extension and agreement is reached with the school authorities regarding suitable local contribution.

In the circumstances it is not possible at this stage to say when building work will commence.

It is understood that the school authorities proposed to carry out improvements to the heating system of the old school and my Department awaits a report from its local architectural advisers in this regard.
