On various occasions, I have publicly expressed my deep concern at the ongoing, trend towards very significant and recurring annual increases in the costs of the GMS scheme, at the very time when stringent cost containment measures are, of necessity being applied in other areas of the public health services.
However, I remain confident that sufficient funding will be available in respect of all expenditure required within this calendar year.
