Vol. 370 No. 9

Written Answers. - Ballyweelin (Sligo) School.

205.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of a new school at Cappigeens, Ballinfull, County Sligo in view of the fact that permission to invite tenders was given on 23 January 1985; if he will give the date of commencement of work, and if work will begin in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Deputy is understood to be referring to the proposed new national school for Ballyweelin, Ballinfull, County Sligo. The placing of a contract for this project has been authorised, and my Department is at present in communication with the school authorities regarding the lodgment of the local contribution, with a view to the finalisation of the contract arrangements. Building work may be expected to begin in the reasonably near future, but as yet I am not in a position to give a precise indication of the date.
