As I informed the Deputy in reply to a question by him in May last there was local disagreement as to which of three harbours in close proximity to each other in this area should be developed. In the event my Department was notified it had been agreed locally that Portmagee harbour should be developed and that repairs to the pier at Renard Point were also required.
An estimate of the cost of repairs to the pier at Renard Point has been received from the Office of Public Works and the options for development at Portmagee are being assessed by my Department's engineers.
