Vol. 370 No. 10

Supplementary Estimates, 1986. - European Communities (Amendment) Bill, 1986: Second Stage.

Question proposed: "That the Bill be now read a Second Time."
The following amendment was proposed by Deputies Mac Giolla and De Rossa:
To delete all words after "That" and substitute—
"Dáil Éireann declines to give a Second Reading to the European Communities (Amendment) Bill, 1986 until such time as the Single European Act has been renegotiated to provide effective guarantees on peace, neutrality, regional aid and the development of the Irish economy.".

I am putting the question, "That the words proposed to be deleted stand part of the Question."

Question put and agreed to.
Amendment declared lost.

Since it has been decided that the words proposed to be deleted stand part of the Question, the Bill in accordance with Standing Orders is forthwith declared to be read a Second Time.

Committee Stage ordered for Thursday, 11 December 1986.
The Dáil adjourned at 11.30 p.m. until 10.30 p.m. on Thursday, 11 December 1986.
