An allocation of £4 million in the form of Exchequer equity, was paid to An Post in 1985 as a contribution towards the company's capital programme for that year. All funds for the company's 1986 capital programme are being provided from their own internal resources and from borrowing.
It is not envisaged that any Exchequer funds will be provided to An Post during 1987.
