Written Answers. - Trial of Turkish Trade Unionist.

22.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has yet received a reply to his representations, which he referred to in reply to Question No. 35 of 1 July last concerning the case of Muzaffer Sarac who was reported to have been put on trial in Turkey arising from a speech he made while on a visit to Dublin in June 1985; what the reply was, if any, from the Turkish authorities; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

We were informed by the Turkish authorities in early November that Mr. Sarac had been found not guilty at the conclusion of his trial.
