Vol. 370 No. 10

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

80.

asked the Minister for Finance when a rebate of tax will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment on 7 September, 1986, and subsequently submitted a claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment to the Inspector of Taxes. The claim was dealt with on 8 October, 1986, and a cheque in settlement was issued to the taxpayer on 15 October, 1986.

The taxpayer submitted a second claim on 15 November, 1986. This claim has now been dealt with and a cheque in settlement, representing the balance of tax deducted from the taxpayer's earnings in the current year, 1986/87, will be issued to her shortly.
