Vol. 370 No. 12

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 20. By agreement, the proceedings on Second Stage of No. 20 shall be brought to a conclusion not later than 5 p.m. today and the Minister for Justice shall be called on to conclude not later than 4.30 p.m. today.

Are the arrangements regarding item No. 20 agreed? Agreed.

May I ask the Minister if it is the intention of the Minister for the Environment to introduce amending planning legislation in view of the exorbitant compensation claims which are coming from the courts as a result of defects in the planning laws?

I am sure the Deputy hardly expects a top-of-the-head answer to an important question such as that.

If legislation was promised, Deputy, you could raise it but it is not in order.
