asked the Minister for Education if he will provide an additional remedial teacher for the national schools in the Beara Peninsula, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The applications for remedial teachers for national schools are being processed at present by my Department.

An application for a remedial post to cater for four schools in the Beara Peninsula has been received by my Department.

Remedial teaching posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of need and this application will be considered in the light of the availability of remedial posts for 1986-87. The chairmen of the boards of management will be advised when a decision has been taken in the matter.

asked the Minister for Education if he will make a statement on the present position with regard to the application for a remedial teacher to be shared between Templeglantine and Tournafulla national schools, County Limerick; and when it is likely that the appointment will be made.

The applications for remedial teachers for national schools are being processed at present by my Department. An application for a remedial post on a shared basis between Glengurt (Tournafulla), Templeglantine and Mount Collins national schools has been received by my Department.

Remedial teaching posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of need and this application will be considered in the light of the availability of remedial posts for 1986-87. The chairman of the board of management will be advised when a decision has been taken in the matter.
