asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received proposals to accept tenders from Dublin County Council in respect of replacement of existing prefabricated fireplaces in houses at Kilohan Grove, Walkinstown, Castle Lawns/Castle Park, Tallaght and Michael Collins Park, Clondalkin, County Dublin; the addresses of the houses in respect of which tenders have been sought and if sanction will now be given by his Department for acceptance of these tenders in view of the urgent need of providing the fireplaces in these locations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have approved Dublin County Council's proposals to accept tenders for the replacement of prefabricated chimneys in 49 tenant purchase dwellings at Kilohan Grove, Walkinstown, 15 at Castle Lawns/Castle Park, Tallaght, and eight at Michael Collins Park, Clondalkin, County Dublin.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

The grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in the payment of a new house grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick having regard to the fact that the house which was inspected was approved for payment in early November; and when he expects this grant to be paid.

There has been no undue delay in this case. The grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly, whose final inspection was carried out six weeks ago.

The applicant has recently been requested to furnish certain information relating to the carrying out of the work and payment of the grant will be further considered on receipt of his reply.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the inspection to be carried out for the purpose of decision on an application for a new house grant and mortgage subsidy which was applied for in 1980 by a person (details supplied) in County Offaly as the house has only been substantially completed within the past few months; if he will confirm that the £2,000 new house grant will be applicable in this case; and when the inspection can be carried out.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. An inspection will be carried out within a few weeks. The rate of grant payable will be determined when the inspector's report is received.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a home improvement grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Payment of the grant will be further considered on receipt of certain information relating to the carrying out of the work which has been requested from the applicant.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange to pay a mortgage interest subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will be paid when the relevant claim form, duly completed and certified by the relevant lending agency, is received in the Department.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will arrange for the immediate inspection of a new house built by a person (details supplied) in County Galway and the payment of a grant.

The grant will be paid when an inspection establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. An inspection will be carried out within the next few weeks.
