Vol. 370 No. 13

Written Answers. - Lissycasey (Clare) Water Supply Scheme.

88.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has any proposals to improve the existing public water supply in the Lissycasey are of County Clare in view of the complaints from householders in the area regarding the poor quality of the supply; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no proposals before my Department in relation to a public water supply in this area. However, proposals to improve the quality of water in the Lissycasey group water scheme have been the subject of discussions between my Department and Clare County Council, and my Department have recently requested that the council confirm their approval to the proposed treatment works, and their willingness to operate the plant on a fee paying basis for the group.
