asked the Minister for Defence if he will give details of the statutory bodies currently under the aegis of his Department; the total number of persons other than civil servants appointed by him to these bodies; the number of such persons whose current address is outside the State; and the total number of such persons with current addresses within each separate county in the State.

There are two such bodies, viz: (1) the Irish Red Cross Society; the members of its Central Council are not appointed by the Minister for Defence; and (2) the Army Pensions Board which has three members none of whom is a civil servant; two of them reside in Dublin and the third in Westmeath.

There is no such body apart from committees and working parties relating to matters of internal administration, all the members of which are officers of the Department.
