As explained to the Deputy in reply to a similar question earlier this year, my Department some few years back considered a proposal to extend the pier at Ballycrovane. In view of the level of fishing from the pier it was considered that the substantial costs involved could not be justified economically in the fishery interest. There has been no change in that situation in the meantime that would justify the extension of the pier.
