Vol. 370 No. 14

Written Answers. - Teacher's Pension.

124.

asked the Minister for Education how a figure of £4,024.92 was arrived at for a person (details supplies) in County Kilkenny as the INTO authorities informed her that her pension should be in the region of £6,500, and at her own calculation it should be considerably more than granted.

The pension at the rate of £4,024.92 per annum was calculated on the basis of 19 years and 242 days of pensionable service which had been credited to the teacher in question, in the records of the Teachers' Pensions Section of my Department. It has now been confirmed that the teacher had given 23 years and 254 days of pensionable service and her pension is being increased accordingly. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.
