Vol. 370 No. 14

Written Answers. - County Kerry National Schools.

142.

asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position with regard to the following schools: Lispole national school; Muirioch school, Ballydavid, and Longfield national school, Firies, County Kerry.

The Deputy's question is understood to refer to the building projects proposed for the national schools named in the question, and the following is the position:

Lispole: The question of approving a sketch scheme for a new school to replace the existing buildings serving Minard Castle national school and Clooncurra national school awaits the outcome of an investigation of the title to the site for the new school. The relevant documentation has been submitted by the school authorities and is at present with the Chief State Solicitor.

Muirioch: The question of formally approving a sketch scheme to replace the existing buildings serving Smerwick national school awaits submission of evidence of satisfactory title to the site for the new building.

Longfield: A site has been offered for a new school to replace the existing building serving Firies national school, and my Department's professional officers have been asked to prepare a sketch scheme for consideration by the school authorities. As soon as the scheme is available my Department will communicate with the school authorities in the matter.
