Vol. 370 No. 14

Written Answers. - County Wexford Schools.

144.

asked the Minister for Education when he will approve a grant for Ballyroebuck community centre, Bunclody, County Wexford, which is being used as a general purposes room by the local school.

My Department have agreed in principle to grant-aid the conversion of the former national school building at Ballyroebuck, County Wexford, to serve as a general purposes room for the present national school. Consideration of the matter in detail cannot take place until the school authorities, in accordance with the requirements of the Rules for National Schools, submit evidence of satisfactory title to the site of the building proposed for conversion.

145.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the need for remedial tuition in Ballyellis national school, Ballyroebuck national school, Clohamon national school and Kilinnyshall national school areas of County Wexford; if he will immediately agree to sanction a remedial teacher for these schools; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department have no record of applications, made either individually or jointly, from the boards of management of the schools mentioned by the Deputy for a remedial teaching post. Accordingly, the question of such an appointment does not fall to be considered.
