asked the Minister for Labour the number of GAA clubs in County Meath who have received grants under the various schemes from his Department over the last four years; the amount they received; the number employed on each project and over what period.

Under the grant scheme for youth employment (now renamed Teamwork), three GAA clubs in County Meath received grants over the last four years totalling £34,770 and providing employment for 19 young workers and three supervisors.

Under the social employment scheme, a further three GAA clubs in County Meath are currently receiving grants. Grants have been approved totalling £20,930 and providing employment for 5 people. The social employment scheme is in operation since April, 1985 and persons employed under the scheme normally participate on the scheme for a period of 12 months.
